01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, or to provide information to the website owner. "Similar technologies" — such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — serve comparable purposes and are treated equivalently under this policy.

Cookies are generally categorised as:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the website to function. No consent required.
  • Functional — remember choices you have made (e.g. language, region).
  • Analytics / performance — help us understand how visitors use the site.
  • Advertising / targeting — used to personalise ads and measure campaign performance.

Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, anything beyond the strictly necessary category requires your freely-given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent — given by a clear affirmative action — before the cookie can be set.

02Our approach — opt-in

Arca Labs Ltd operates a strict opt-in model. When you first visit arcalabs.io, only strictly necessary cookies are placed on your device. All other cookies — including analytics — remain disabled until you give explicit consent.

Default state on every new visit. Only strictly necessary cookies are active. No analytics cookies are set, no analytics events are sent, and no third-party scripts run.

Our cookie banner will present you with a clear choice:

  • Accept all — enable analytics cookies and send your first analytics event.
  • Reject all (or close the banner) — keep optional cookies disabled. You can still use the Site normally.
  • Manage preferences — choose each optional category individually.

Your preference is remembered for 12 months in a strictly-necessary cookie (arca_cookie_consent) so we do not ask you again on every visit. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time — see Change your cookie preferences.

03Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site to operate securely and deliver the service you requested. They are always on and do not require your consent.

If you block strictly necessary cookies via your browser, parts of the Site may not work.

04Optional analytics cookies — PostHog EU

With your consent, we use PostHog EU to understand how visitors use arcalabs.io — which pages are most viewed, how people navigate the site, and what works well. This helps us improve content and UX. Data is hosted by PostHog in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).

Why PostHog EUPostHog EU keeps analytics data inside the EU and does not sell or share your data with advertisers. We have configured PostHog with IP anonymisation and no session replay on this Site. If session replay is enabled in future, it will appear as a separate category in the cookie banner.

The cookies and local-storage keys set by PostHog after you consent include:

Data collected. Pseudonymous distinct ID, session ID, pages viewed, clicks, referring URL, device and browser metadata, approximate geolocation (country-level, derived from truncated IP). We do not collect names, email addresses, passwords, payment details or any form input through PostHog.

Data sharing. PostHog acts as our data processor under a written data processing agreement. PostHog does not sell data and does not use it to build advertising profiles.

05What we do not use

To keep the Site simple, fast and privacy-respecting, we do not use any of the following on arcalabs.io:

  • Advertising or targeting cookies (including Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.).
  • Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting for marketing purposes.
  • A/B-test persistence cookies from third-party experimentation platforms.
  • Social-media embed cookies (we link out to social platforms rather than embedding their widgets).
  • Session replay / visitor recording (may be introduced in future — if so, a separate consent category will be added).

If this changes, this policy will be updated before any new cookie is introduced, and the cookie banner will re-appear to collect fresh consent.

06Change your cookie preferences

You can withdraw your consent, or change which optional categories you allow, at any time:

  • From this page — use the "Manage cookie preferences" control below to re-open the banner and change your choices.
  • From any page on the Site — scroll to the footer and click "Cookie preferences".
  • By clearing site data — delete cookies for arcalabs.io in your browser; the banner will re-appear on your next visit.

    Always on
  • Analytics — PostHog EU

    Optional · off by default

This is a template preview. The production Site will replace this block with a live preference panel wired to the arca_cookie_consent cookie and the PostHog opt_in_capturing() / opt_out_capturing() SDK methods.

07Control cookies in your browser

In addition to our on-site controls, every major browser lets you block, delete or filter cookies at device level. Details vary by browser:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari (Mac)
  • Safari (iOS)
  • Microsoft Edge

Blocking all cookies at browser level may mean parts of the Site do not work as intended.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use, the services we rely on, or the law. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page, and — if we introduce any new category of optional cookie — the cookie banner will re-appear to collect fresh consent.
